Exo-Engineering and ORE Catapult have decommissioned the Exo eco-engineered scour protection units from the META East Pickard Bay site.
Six different units were deployed, equating to over 18tons of material, which resided on the seabed for 18 months. The experiment investigated the units performance as scour protection for offshore renewable energy infrastructure and the units habitat enhancement features, such as tunnels, grooves and texture for creatures and plants to attach to or shelter and live in. Various monitoring methodologies were utilised including use of the META ROV to conduct visual surveys. The units have now been recovered, and we are looking forward to Exo-Engineering publishing the results.
