more Detailed information
- The Criterion Jetty site is the deepest of our Quayside sites, extending out into the estuary to a depth of 18m.
- The site covers an area of 4800m2 (110m x 60m) and surrounds a piled concrete jetty.
- There is no onshore access to the jetty, but the jetty piles can be used to attach test equipment.
- Compared to the other Quayside sites, the Criterion Jetty site has slightly higher exposure to tidal currents and waves (max peak spring flow 0.8m/s), as the site extends furthest into the channel.
- In September 2023, a Sofar Spotter wave buoy was deployed at the site, to collect and transmit wave, wind, sea surface temperature and barometric pressure data, all of which can be made available on request.
Our Quayside test sites
Our quayside test sites provide an easy access, low risk area to test marine energy equipment.
They allow you to effectively monitor and evaluate performance tests, easily adjust device parameters and retrieve equipment quickly – meaning you can repeatedly deploy at low cost and learn lessons quickly.
