Williams Shipping provide the port with services and solutions, including stores deliveries to ships at the oil and gas terminals, crew transfers, navigation mark servicing, oil pollution prevention services, offshore renewable energy support, and marine civil engineering support to provide crane barges, towage services and supplying containers through their subsidiary Willbox.
The WILLENDEAVOUR (pictured), a 22m multicat perfectly suited for installation of moorings and marine energy devices, will be based in Pembroke Dock alongside the existing fleet: a 15m multicat and 16m tug.
The META team have a close working relationship with Williams, and the Port of Milford Haven are also on hand to support test centre clients with writing operational procedures and obtaining tow permits.
Having key infrastructure in place is essential to developing a marine energy hub in Wales.
Steve Edwards (left) , Commercial Director at the Port of Milford Haven, said:
“As we transition to Net Zero, the skills developed here are proving increasingly vital for the development, logistics, operations and maintenance of renewable energy devices. An increasing number of developers are basing themselves here to take advantage of these skills as well as our natural environment and proximity to the Celtic Sea. Our collaboration with Williams Shipping will therefore be important as we grow this sector on the Haven.”
