technology tested:
The MEECE Buoy was used to test the following systems:
- Intelligent Mooring System (IMS), a mooring damper solution developed for the FLOW market to reduce costs and overengineering of mooring systems.
- Grafmarine Marine Solar Panels
- Hexigone anti-corrosion coatings
The MEECE Buoy is now available for use for future test and demonstration projects.

Dale Roads – site provides depths up to 12m and moderate wave energy resource.
duration of deployment:
15 months from April 2022 to June 2023.
test aims:
This deployment aimed to test and validate the IMS mooring damper solution at a moderate wave energy site using the MEECE test buoy as a load. It also aimed to demonstrate the Grafmarine marine solar panels and Hexigone anti-corrosion coatings.
test outcome:
The various novel technologies were demonstrated in a realistic environment for over a year, providing valuable data for the site users.
